Job description:
Senior scientist / Project Manager Protein Technology (32-40 h)
- Initiate, manage and execute contract research projects in the area of dairy and protein technology
- Translate customer needs into scientifically sound technology- or ingredient-based solutions
- Contribute to understanding the behavior of proteins in complex food matrices and utilize this to, together with our customers, develop new protein concepts and protein ingredients and protein-based solutions for food applications
- Collaborate with scientific and technical experts, both internally and externally.
Your profile:
- A practical, pro-active and internationally recognized expert in the area of dairy and protein technology with particular emphasis on protein behavior in complex systems
- A PhD with strong emphasis on (dairy) protein technology and protein behavior in complex matrices, e.g. dairy science, food science, protein chemistry or physical chemistry
- Driven by understanding the behavior of proteins in complex systems and applying this
- Creative and conceptual thinker;
• At least 5 years of experience in food - or related relevant industry;
• A network both in industry and the academic world;
• A flexible and enthusiastic team player;
• Excellent communication skills (also in English).

- Initiate, supervise and manage (international) projects in the area of nutrition, diet and health;
- Translate customer needs into science and technology based solutions;
- Scientific and industry network building;
- Develop new innovative health concepts, health ingredients and products together with and for our customers;
- Work together in multidisciplinary teams with technical - and scientific experts and business development managers both within NIZO and from the customer side.
Your profile:
- A practical and pro-active, internationally recognized, professional with a Ph.D. degree in Nutrition (or alike) and expertise and strong focus on diet and health;
- At least 5 years of experience in food or related industry
- Strong network in science and industry
- An inspiring coach with experience in people management and development;

Project Manager Nutrition (32-40 h)
Job description:
- Initiate, supervise and manage (multi-partner) projects in the area of food and health;
- Translate customer needs into science and technology based solutions;
- Develop new innovative health concepts, health ingredients and products together with and for our customers;
- Substantiation of health benefits / health claims by proof-of-principle studies;
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams with technical - and scientific experts and business development managers both within NIZO and from the customer side.
Your profile:
- A practical and pro-active professional preferably with a Ph.D. degree in Health science;
- Expertise and strong focus on human physiology or immunology and affinity with nutritional science (human and/or animal intervention trials);
- Prior experience in mammalian tissue culture techniques will be considered an advantage;
- At least 2 years of research experience in food or related industry;
- Excellent communication skills;
- A flexible and enthusiastic, result-driven, creative team player.
