Model of bacterial persistence

The in-silico model, developed by NIZO food research, provides quantitative information on the survival of probiotic or pathogenic bacteria in the gut. This tool is valuable in developing bioactive ingredients. 

The new tool calculates the growth, adherence and release constants of micro organisms in the small and large intestine. The tool has been validated with a number of in-vivo experiments.
