By means of up to date microbiological and DNA diagnostic tools NIZO is able to assist in tracking and tracing of problem-causing spores in raw materials and ingredients.
In-factory problem solving is enhanced by applying NIZO’s micro-scale heat inactivation systems, designed to simulate industry processes and enabling high throughput experiments. Optimal heating regimes to inactivate spores are assessed, taking product characteristics into account. NIZO’s integrated predictive models enable in-silico experimentation to calculate the effect of processing conditions on fouling, costs and shelf life.
