NIZO has broad knowledge on the drying of fluid foods. 

Spray Drying

Spray drying and drum drying equipment is available at pilot scale and can be combined with other equipment, like evaporators and heaters. Also combination with various computer models is possible.

Spray dryers at NIZO:
• NIRO 250 
   = multistage spray dryer with spray nozzle
   and an external fluidized bed with a
   capacity of a maximum of 250 l/h water
   evaporation 
• NIRO 25
   = spray dryer with a rotary atomizer and
   spray nozzles with a capacity of maximal
   25 l/h water evaporation 
• NIRO 2.5
   = spray dryer with a rotary atomizer with a
   capacity of maximal 2.5 l/h water
   evaporation 

Examples of products for spray drying are:
• creamers
• milk powders
• vitamins
• hydrolysates
