Applying (fundamental) research to improve functional benefits of foods such as taste, texture and health is our business. I’m convinced that the progress in science will lead to much more functional foods in the coming years.
I really enjoy the combination of science and business at NIZO. As an expert in food safety and hygienic processing I have been involved in many consultancy projects for the food industry worldwide. For the past 2 years I was partly based in Thailand and responsible for exploring business opportunities and setting up business in Asia Pacific.
Now, as Director Research, I’m a spider in the web of our organization and bring together people of different scientific backgrounds to couple our technologies and expertise to solve market questions. In my view this is the key to our success.
The diversity of activities and working together with my enthusiastic colleagues to provide the right solutions for our customers is what motivates me.
