Group Leader Food Safety

The Food Safety team has been involved in many consultancy projects for the food industry worldwide, related to contaminants in foods in the broadest sense of the word, be it of chemical or microbiological nature.

We can provide expert knowledge through multidisciplinary teams to tackle complex problems throughout the food chain. Our enthousiastic chemical and microbiological experts are able to identify contaminants, perform risk assessments and help implement control measures in a industrial setting.

My own background is in  microbiology (control of foodborne spoilage and pathogenic spores/bacteria and mechanistic understanding of their resistance properties), and in toxicology (analysis and breakdown of persistant chemicals in the environment), and I truly enjoy working with a team in which so much knowledge on contaminants comes together.
