Food is essential to everyone! Being a food technologist and expert in flavour and satiation, it fascinates me to enable technology to improve the functionality of our food.

At NIZO, I am managing multidisciplinary research projects with a focus on health. Besides my activities as a project manager, I obtained my PhD degree at the University of Maastricht in the field of aroma-induced satiation. For this work I was awarded with the Unilever Young Scientist Prize.

Working in multidisciplinary teams together with enthusiastic colleagues and customers on a large variety of research projects is what I really enjoy. The diversity of my activities is broad.
I am actively involved in NIZO’s product group Food intake & Metabolism. From concept to claim we apply state-of-the art science in satiation/satiety, weight management and food intake regulation into the development and production of real foods. To demonstrate the effect, in vitro screening, in vivo and human intervention studies are performed.

One of my other challenges is to apply flavour-texture interactions in food to target health driven solutions for our customers in the food industry. Sensory-induced satiation and reward are therefore important topics.

Have you become curious about the solutions we offer? Get in touch via the NIZO Speakers Academy or Watch or listen to one of our TV or radio broadcasts!
