Join Linda Loonen, Senior Scientist in Health and Microbiology, at the 19th International Scientific Conference on Probiotics, Prebiotics, Gut Microbiota and Health (IPC) in Krakow, Poland, from 22–24 June.
Linda will present a poster titled “Effects of Lactobacillus paragasseri SBT2055 in a Translational Ex Vivo Fecal Fermentation Model.”
This study was carried out with Megmilk Snow Brand, in which we explore the potential health benefits of the probiotic strain SBT2055. Using an advanced lab system that mimics the human gut (called Microcolon), the team examined how this strain affects gut activity. The probiotic activated clear metabolic responses and increased the production of beneficial substances, including short‑chain fatty acids (SCFAs). It also boosted levels of helpful bacterial metabolites such as GABA compared to control samples. These findings suggest that SBT2055 may support healthy gut function and contribute to overall well‑being through gut‑related pathways.
