Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA) is a behavioural sensory evaluation approach that uses descriptive panels to measure a product’s sensory characteristics.

Panel members use their senses to identify perceived similarities and differences in products, and articulate those perceptions in their own words, so called ‘attributes’.

Before the analytics starts, panel members have to come to consensus about the attributes and their definitions. During the analytical part, panels give scores to these attributes. With help of statistics, it can be measures if the products differ significantly from each other in some attributes.
