Department Head Microbiology
In my role as Department Head Microbiology, I manage R&D projects that match my passion for finding new ways to use microorganisms to improve food and health. Together, my team and I take on a broad range of topics: from dairy, microbial and plant protein fermentation, to process development of pro/pre/postbiotics, to food safety and chain control. Our end goal is to help our customers optimise the use of microorganisms to safely and cost-effectively enhance the health benefits of products for the food, cosmetic and pharma markets.
After obtaining my PhD degree studying the anaerobic gut symbiont bacterium Akkermansia from Wageningen University & Research, I have worked for both pharma and food industry. Here I have combined this strong scientific background with my analytical, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills to develop high quality products that meet the requirements of both organisations and consumers.
