Junior Business Developer

who converts qualified leads into customer orders for (research) projects.

In this position, you will get to know the organisation broadly and work together with experienced Business Development Managers, the marketing department, researchers and project leaders. There are good opportunities for growth to medior and senior Business Development Manager.

The position

  • Support marketing campaigns for the sales team and assess incoming leads for relevance.
  • Pass on qualified leads to the senior Business Development Managers.
  • Support experienced Business Development Managers in the quotation process from lead to signed contract with the client.
  • Handle the less complex customer queries in cooperation with researchers and project leaders.
  • Creating and adapting reports on lead development, the sales funnel and the order intake upon request.
  • Performing market research, e.g. of start-ups.
  • You report to a Senior Business Development Manager and are part of the sales team.


  • Academic or higher vocational education (minimum BSc level) in food technology or related.
  • 2-3 years of working experience in research, and/or marketing & sales, with a strong interest in working with and for various (international) customers.
  • Ability to quickly master digital systems (e.g. Hubspot, Exact, Power BI, Crunchbase and Meltwater).
  • Good oral and written command of the English and Dutch languages.
  • Able to organise own work efficiently.
  • Good communication skills, both with clients and internally.
  • Customer-oriented, proactive, quality-oriented, eye for detail, team player.
